What Are Neuromodulators?

Botox, Jeuveau, Dysport, Xeomin, and Daxxify are all neuromodulators—injectable medications that work by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that cause facial muscles to contract. When the underlying muscles relax, the overlying skin smoothes out, softening or eliminating lines and wrinkles.

The Treatment Experience

Neuromodulator treatments are quick, typically completed in 15–30 minutes. Dr. Kieu uses very fine needles and precise injection technique to minimize discomfort. No anesthesia is needed, and you can return to normal activities immediately after.

Results begin to appear within 3–5 days and are fully visible by 7–14 days. A follow-up appointment at two weeks ensures your result is exactly right and any minor asymmetries can be addressed.

How Often Should You Get Treated?

Most patients return every 3–4 months to maintain results. Over time, with consistent treatment, many patients find they need slightly less product as the targeted muscles weaken from disuse. Daxxify may extend the interval to every 6–9 months for appropriate patients.
